Must-visit attractions in Hue, Vietnam

This place is an institution in Hue. It’s been here for over 100 years and it’s always busy with locals, and local tourists from other areas of Vietnam who have heard about it and want to eat at Hell Rice before they go to Heaven. The story is, that back when the restaurant was still somewhat new, there was no electricity, so the patrons ate in a dark, dingy room that was poorly lit by kerosene lanterns. As you can imagine, it probably didn’t smell very good either with all of that gas burning.

This might be the most authentic Bun Bo Hue experience I’ve ever had in Vietnam. That is partly because it’s ‘IN’ Hue, and also because it’s about as traditional and old-school as it gets, even for here. This spot sits down a quiet side road along the river and it’s quite spacious with covered outdoor seating.
