The Barbican are deep diving into the emo era through a series of personal photos snapped on digital and phone cameras from the mid 2000's. Emo came to the fore as a movement channeling teenage melancholy and became not only a fashion statement and a mood but also a way of living. The exhibition is called 'I'm Not Okay' and is being put on by the Barbican Music gallery in collaboration with the Museum of Youth Culture who have unearthed the images from old hard drives.
