South Llano River State Park provides refuge for wildlife and people on the southwestern edge of the Hill Country. Bring your hiking boots, water toys, camping gear, and sense of adventure! Situated on the pristine spring-fed South Llano River, the park offers several miles of hiking and biking trails, water-based recreation and wildlife watching. Formerly a working ranch, South Llano River State Park is home to one of the largest Rio Grande turkey roosts in Central Texas.

The South Llano River is unique among west and central Texas rivers: it has never run dry in recorded history. Two large springs, in addition to many smaller springs, supply most of the water in the South Llano.

South Llano River State Park is a 2600 acre state park located along the South Llano River in Kimble County, Texas. The park opened to the public in 1990 and is managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department .

2025年2月4日 · South Llano River State Park is located in the Hill Country of Texas. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including camping, picnicking, canoeing, tubing, swimming, fishing, hiking, mountain bike riding, and bird and nature study.

The park had amazing views, well marked trails, clean restrooms, tubing and river access for fishing and fun in the sun. The park had a gift shop loaded with all types of state park merchandise, drinks, food, ice cream and ice. The night sky was spectacular and definitely a state park we will visit again.
