The Langhorne Creek Wine Region is located in the Fleurieu Zone south of Adelaide and extends north of Lake Alexandria for about 40 km north to the small iconic community of Langhorne Creek. It includes wineries surrounding the township of Strathalbyn, Willyaroo, Angus Plains, Belvidere and Langhorne Creek.

It is one of Australia's most historic winegrowing areas, with the oldest established wineries dating back to the mid-19th Century with some plots of vines passing a century in age.

Langhorne Creek is best known for its Cabernet Sauvignon, producing deeply colored, richly flavored wines that have gained international recognition. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, the region also produces other varietals like Shiraz, Malbec, and limited plantings of white wine grape varieties such as Semillon and Verdelho.

2024年10月27日 · We were looking to visit a winery in Langhorne Creek for a tasting and a meal: we opted for Lake Breeze which turned out to be an excellent choice. Wine tasting was at no charge: they have nice range of reds but at the time we visited some of the varietals had sold out.
