The factory burned down in April, 1968 and was rebuilt in June, 1968. RG & G was reformed as Grammer Guitars in the fall of 1968. The Grammer Guitar company was later sold to Ampeg (circa unknown, late 1960s), and the later models have an Ampeg "A" logo on the front of the headstock below the Grammer name.

All Gurian Guitars have serial numbers stamped on the neck block in characters visible through the soundhole. The numbers are preceded by letters: A, B, C, or D which indicate the series. A-series – Factory location: New York City from start to 1971. B-series – Factory location: Grand Street, New York City from 1972 to 1973.

2019年12月22日 · Easiest way to know when you get the guitar is to measure the lower bout and see if it is X or ladder braced. There should be an FON stamped inside the guitar on the neck block which will give you the year built. . If it is not there or you cannot make it out, the Gibson logo and tuners are generally helpful for narrowing a build period down.

The only identifying mark is that the machine heads are vintage Schaller ones likely from the 80s. They still have "Made in W. Germany" on them but look slightly updated from the late 70s/early 80s ones I've found online. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. 2010年12月22日 · Funny side note: when I had Mark Angus build me #35, I LOVED his work and every guitar of his I played, prior to ordering mine... but I REALLY didn't like the headstock logo he was using at the time... so I begged him to leave the headstock blank, promising him that I would ALWAYS announce to audiences who built these two fine guitars of mine...
