How come that the Fugitive Doctor's TARDIS looks like a police box?
TARDIS puts itself in the right spot when The Doctor leaves Gallifrey. They go to London. TARDIS slips on the form of a police box like an old shoe. Alternatively, Ruth and the TARDIS could’ve gone to London 1963 and the TARDIS seized upon the opportunity to be a blue box. London is big and a year is long! Plenty of room for two doctors.
What does a TARDIS actually look like? : r/doctorwho - Reddit
My understanding is that the TARDIS outer shell can form any shape it pleases. The outer shell is just the entry point to the interior. The interior is a separate "pocket" universe. Within this universe the TARDIS can create matter at will in a direct energy to matter conversion (and the reverse) and is powered by a blackhole.

2017年12月6日 · The interesting thing about TARDIS's is - they are both within that separate place, and within their shell. If you shake the shell, the TARDIS shakes. Blow up the shell, the TARDIS explodes. So, when the TARDIS is travelling, it isn't really moving at all. Instead, the TARDIS is shifting its shell to the vortex, flying to the appropriate point ...

How did the Silence blow up the Tardis? : r/gallifrey - Reddit
2014年5月1日 · The TARDIS would not have lost power, either, when it slipped into the alternate dimension in Rise of Steel. So as far as I'm concerned, the Eye of Harmony reinforces my belief that the Doctor did destroy Gallifrey, until that event was re-written in DotD.
