Spiders also appeared several times in Sonic the Comic like when A spider attempts to eat Tekno the Canary and they had to be rescued by Amy Rose not Sonic 😂 Shadow also once used spiders to hold sonic back and distract him due to his phobia, all while attempting to summon the Chaos Emeralds.

I think it's one of those gameplay and story segregation things; as a character it's perfectly acceptable for Sonic to be afraid of water/drowning, but from a gameplay perspective it would suck if Sonic refused to get in water when the player wanted him to, or the player had to do some sort of psyching-up minigame to get Sonic to want to to in before they actually could.

2017年10月26日 · That was pretty great. Never watched the previous Scared Stupid videos, but this feels like an actual Halloween special that a modern universe based Sonic show would have. Also Tails' little Tracer costume is adorable. :3

Even thought "hydro-" and "aqua-" mean the same thing, they can be used to mean completely different thing. What Sonic has is more along the lines of "Aquaphobia" and "Thalassophobia" (fear of seas and oceans). And judging by what has been revealed to us in the games (Sonic being too dense to float or swim), he has a justified fear of drowning.
