Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Roger Dale Brown is avid about traveling, studying, teaching, and competing in national painting competitions. Crediting historical master artists, such as John Carlson and Edgar Payne, Roger believes that plein air painting is an essential element to being a great artist.

Roger Dale Brown took a circuitous route to becoming an artist. Although he had enjoyed art classes in high school, he did not continue to paint after graduation. It took a chance meeting with another artist many years later to ignite the creative spark again.
