With over 60 of the top teams in North America the MidWinter Classic is becoming an elite tournament to attend. In 2023, the tournament featured 30 top 25 teams and we look to grow the event in 2024. We look forward to seeing your team here in 2024.

The first Winter Classic was held January 1, 2008, between the Buffalo Sabres and Pittsburgh Penguins at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. The game had a then-NHL-record crowd of 71,217 fans in attendance.

It was the league's inaugural Winter Classic game, and was contested between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres; the Penguins won, 2–1, in a shootout on a goal by captain Sidney Crosby. [1]
