High atop Mt. LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, LeConte Lodge® is the highest guest lodge in the eastern United States. It is situated on an open glade just below the summit of Mt. LeConte at an elevation of about 6400 feet.

At an elevation of 6,593 feet, Mount LeConte is the third highest peak in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. LeConte Lodge® is located west of the summit at 6,360 feet elevation. Although LeConte Lodge® is now under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, it predates the national park’s establishment in 1934.

Highlights: Views south and west over the Smokies; impressive stands of Rhododendron, Myrtle and Mountain Laurel bloom in late spring; exclusive patches of Grass of Parnassus and Gentian bloom in late summer; several exposed rock ledges higher up with hand cables.
