The Mercedes-Benz DTM V8 engine is a 4,000 cc (4.0 L; 244.1 cu in), naturally-aspirated, V8 engine, with a power output of between 476–500 hp (355–373 kW; 483–507 PS) and a maximum torque 490–500 N⋅m (361–369 lbf⋅ft).

The Mercedes-AMG C-Coupé DTM is a silhouette racing car designed by Mercedes-Benz for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters championship. Mercedes-Benz chose the IAA International Motor Show in Frankfurt to present the new 2012 DTM AMG Mercedes C-Coupé.

Twelve drivers' titles as well as 14 team and 15 manufacturer championships: That is the outstanding track record of 35 years in the DTM. After the title hattrick in what was to be a farewell season in 2018, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport returned to the DTM in 2021.

In the 39th year of the DTM, 14 teams will be fielding six different car brands - German TV station ProSieben will be showing all the races live on television.

Unlike the previous incarnation, which primarily used saloon models like the Mercedes-Benz W201, the new DTM featured only 2-door coupés. Opel used the upcoming Coupé version of the Astra as in the concept car, and Mercedes used the CLK model which was already used as the basis for the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR GT1-class sports car .

Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing is continuing its successful history in the 35 th season for Mercedes-Benz in the DTM with the line-up for 2024. Mercedes-AMG is on a mission in the battle for the title, aiming to bring the DTM trophy back to Affalterbach after 2021.
