Defeating his archnemesis Subzero, Scorpion learns the true identity of the killer of his ancient clan and that it was Quan Chi. Banished back to the Netherrealm, Scorpion surprises the sorcerer as they are both sucked into the portal back to the Netherrealm.

In hopes of gaining Scorpion as a new ally in the war with the Elder Gods, QuanChi make the dead Ninja an offer he cannot refuse - Life, in exchange for his services as a warrior against the Elders. Scorpion accepts, but hides under alterior motives.
