2024年9月2日 · By phone: The automated system defaults to the line one is using to report the fault and insists to try to test it. It then tells the user that the line is busy so it can't test it and then requests the user to phone back when the line isn't busy. Of course it's busy (and it always will be) - it's being used to report the fault!

2024年2月5日 · We have a BT essential Cordless that we have had for almost ayear. Today everytime we attempt to call a number the word 'Busy' is displ;ayed on the screen. We have checked all 4 phones and all appears Ok. we have had other BT users call us on our landline and all Ok. we can call each phone internally.

2023年8月23日 · Firstly, it had not switched over on the date of the email, however 2 days later the analoge line has stopped. The phone has now been plugged into the rear of the router as per instructions, but all I hear is an engaged tone (intermittent tone). It has been like this all day now.

2023年9月6日 · Its more likely to be a fault in the exchange, probably the line card not decoding the tones, assuming you are not on BT Digital voice, so its going to need a visit to the exchange. Usually its still possible to make calls if you still have a phone which uses pulse dialling, and not tones, as the line cards still work under those conditions.

2022年10月31日 · You have a line fault which is tripping the ring current. You need to report this to BT. You will probably find that if you pick up the phone after the first ring, you would be able to hear the caller, but the line will be noisy. Another possibility is an exchange equipment fault, but the cracking on the line would make that less likely.

2021年12月2日 · It showed on my mobile that the call was answered and immediately hung up. I tried plugging a 431A BT Cord from the Digital voice adapter into the splitter I mentioned earlier. This eliminated the problem of the telephone cutting off, but the Beocom phone didn't ring, and it constantly showed on the display 'Line Busy'.
