2022年7月5日 · Well, traditional bonsai pots are definitely not ideal for max growth, but nursery pots I'm not sure. They could be taller and narrower than what is ideal, for example. But I would be starting with established trees that are 15-30 yrs old, I figure.

2012年3月20日 · I've commissioned larger pots, including a 24" wide 3" deep drum from Bryan Albright for a large cedar elm. It was not cheap, but much less expensive than a Japanese import of the same size. Ron Lang is arguably the best potter for larger bonsai pots. I've bought a pretty wide variety of pots from him, including commissioned stuff.

2024年9月11日 · Growing large trees in pots also has its limitations. The root system will need plenty of space to grow to support a large tree with lots of foliage. Also, don't underestimate how easy it is for trees to simply fall over when they are tall and living in a pot.

2015年8月19日 · They work well. It is usually sold in bags, you just mix it with exact amount of water and that's it. Some of them are fast curing and contain fiber reinforcement, which is beneficial for larger pots. You need certain skill to work with those, but it certainly works. I have such pots for large trees, some are up to 1 m long.

2023年11月28日 · It is generally true though. The vast majority of what he has aren't really "massive," so much as large-ish. Most of them are under 20" and pretty shallow. The breakage is only part of the issue. The bigger pots over 26" exceed shipping box requirements out of Japan and have to be shipped in containers.
