2022年3月6日 · This is completely untrue. Hydrocolloid bandages (not just pimple patches) are used specifically for providing open wounds a better environment to heal than their natural environment. In any medical handbook or textbook, this is how they are described. Basic hydrocolloids have no ability to pierce pimples on their own.

As with all wound dressings, there is a maximum capacity of exudate it can hold. In this case of hydrocolloid dressing, you can see the amount of exudate absorbed because it turns white/opaque.

2020年12月29日 · I tried using the band-aid brand hydro seal hydrocolloid bandaids and they made my small boil turn into a large, really bad open hole that took a long time to heal. Personally, I don't recommend using them. They don't let air get to the wound to help it heal and can make a small wound much worse in a short period of time.

2020年6月3日 · This time I had some hydrocolloid acne patches, and decided it wouldn't hurt to try it on the bites. I punctured the bites, and placed the bandages over them. I had to replace them a couple times throughout the day, because they'd get too full--it was pretty gross. But, today the bites are laying completely flat, and the itch is gone!

You get a lot of the same benefits but you can easily remove them without damage to the tissue. Plus, the foam cushions the wound against bumps and friction which is great for those really painful ones.

Today while kneeling to pick something up the patch burst from the strain and fluid buildup. I have removed the patch, the wound remains wet, and continues to weep.
