When Luke fails to report in at Echo Base, Han Solo goes out on his tauntaun to search for him in an encroaching storm. Upon waking up, Luke finds himself hanging upside down in a cave; his eyes opening to the sight of a wampa eating his tauntaun.

1980年6月18日 · Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia Organa confront new trials that test their courage, friendships, and beliefs. The Rebel Alliance has established a hidden base on the icy planet of Hoth, where they hope to regroup and plan their next moves against the Empire.

Han Solo discovers Luke and insulates him against the weather inside his deceased tauntaun mount until they are rescued the next morning. Alerted to the Rebels' location, the Empire launches a large-scale attack using AT-AT walkers, forcing the Rebels to evacuate the base.

In the sequel trilogy, Solo joins forces with Leia, the scavenger Rey and the former stormtrooper Finn in a campaign against the First Order, led by his son, Kylo Ren, who eventually kills him.
