2024年2月14日 · These trees have a number of faults I'd like to correct with time. The first tree I'd like to tackle is the field maple. Originally this tree had multiple branches crossing over and pointing inwards. Branching and taper was (and still is) poor. I have given it a trim to reveal the shape of the tree underneath the mess.

2020年4月7日 · hi guys. have this pretty field maple that we saved from the building site. it's been in the pot outside for a year now, meant to repot and chop the top of it last autumn, but broke my leg and just about walking now, to do anything about it. is it too late? it's just starting growing leaf buds no leaf opened yet, I'm in Ireland.

2021年8月19日 · We have a lot of field maples as street trees here in Oregon and there are always lots of seedlings popping up like weeds. So they do germinate readily. Fertility improves with cross-pollination from unique trees and germination improves with thermal cycling.

2021年11月20日 · I have a 3 - 4 yr old maple growing in my yard from seed. Not sure if it's a vine or field maple since I have an abundance of both growing around me. It's currently 24 inches tall. 2016年6月13日 · Thanks for all the responses. This tree was next to other maples at the nursery so I thought is was a Maple also. I checked several leaf identification charts on line and came up with Field Maple. My leaves are almost a dead ringer for a Field Maple leaf. But as AlainK pointed out this tree has alternating buds so I think it is a Sweet Gum.
