I have a Newair portable evaporative cooler that I purchased a couple of years ago from Home Depot online. It helps cool and is not loud. It sounds like a quiet fan. I've been using it in the living room until I get my swamp cooler turned on (today). During the heat of the day (under the living room skylights) it hasn't helped a lot.

Do crack the door and open a downstairs window to pull the air through the house. If you let it just sit and run, it won't cool as effectively.

We used a $600 portable AC during part of our apartment life for almost three years, up to this year. It worked pretty well, but its thermostat always registered way hotter than it was, and it didn’t cool very well anyways.

Better yet, most of them are coming from south FL where it's slightly more humid. Seems like people are using them in garages, patios, lanais, sun rooms, etc.

2023年1月28日 · The one for your heater will not work. I have one installed where the switch that turned on and off my swamp cooler was. My parents also have one installed. Do a Google search for a evaporative cooler thermostat. I know Dial and Master Cool make them. They wire up with 110 running thru them.
