I have a Newair portable evaporative cooler that I purchased a couple of years ago from Home Depot online. It helps cool and is not loud. It sounds like a quiet fan. I've been using it in the living room until I get my swamp cooler turned on (today). During the heat of the day (under the living room skylights) it hasn't helped a lot.

2022年6月10日 · The evaporative cooler is absolutely going to save you money. And as long as you're not trying to cool the house when it gets above 95, it will work just fine. Do crack the door and open a downstairs window to pull the air through the house. If you let it just sit and run, it won't cool as effectively.

Lastly, I prefer the evaporative cooler because when a cool change inevitably comes through, I can turn the cooler element off in the system and just flood the house with the naturally cool air from outside very quickly. Mist people running split systems haven’t even noticed the change has come in most of the time.

2021年8月15日 · Contrary to popular opinion, evaporative coolers - aka swamp coolers - do work in Seattle. We used a $600 portable AC during part of our apartment life for almost three years, up to this year. It worked pretty well, but its thermostat always registered way hotter than it was, and it didn’t cool very well anyways.

2023年4月10日 · Fwiw- I've been filtering reviews and Q & As on Amazon's swamp cooler offers for "Florida" and there are a surprising amount of reviews. Better yet, most of them are coming from south FL where it's slightly more humid. Seems like people are using them in garages, patios, lanais, sun rooms, etc.

2020年5月25日 · An Evaporative cooling pad, water w/ container, a water pump, pipes, a fan, and materials holding everything together. As far as I know, evaporative cooling pads can either be made of Aspen (Wood shavings) or synthetic materials (Plastic I guess).

2019年9月29日 · An evaporative cooler is great, a low power user and good for low humidity locales with temps under 100F. After 100F they can still work, but they work harder. During monsoon season, they struggle due to the outside humidity however, monsoon in Denver isn't more than a couple weeks out of the year.

2023年1月28日 · The one for your heater will not work. I have one installed where the switch that turned on and off my swamp cooler was. My parents also have one installed. Do a Google search for a evaporative cooler thermostat. I know Dial and Master Cool make them. They wire up with 110 running thru them.
