Three designations are available: articulating boom crane operator (ABC), articulating boom crane with winch operator (ABW), and articulating boom loader operator (ABL). Candidates choose among three written exams and two practical exams.

The Tower Crane Operator written exam consists of a single examination in tower crane operation. This examination has 55 multiple-choice questions. Candidates are allowed 60 minutes to complete the exam.
