There was a lot of controversy over the journals, notebooks and plans written by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold regarding the assault on Columbine. A lot of misinformation was circulated and treated as fact before anyone had seen the diary first-hand save the people who found it and the officers who confiscated it.

Nothing ever came of the police report (which was 'accidentally' lost by Jefferson County for a while following the shootings at Columbine High) but Eric did learn to keep his hostile thoughts to hand-written journals thereafter. You can see full-sized versions of the scanned pages below in the Columbine Report.

Despite my efort to decipher Dylan’s handwriting, there are places where the journal is hard to read. In some places I have made my best guess as to what a word might be; in others, I have refrained from guessing and marked the words as illegible or used a question mark in brackets to indicate an illegible word.

The numbers in the left column refer to the pages in the Jeferson County Sherif’s Ofice (JCSO) Columbine documents. JCSO has blacked out names other than Eric and Dylan; these are indicated thus: . I hate the fucking world, too much god damn fuckers in it.

After he threatened Brooks Brown on his website and the Browns reported it to the police (Guerra report), Eric turned to keeping his violently angry thoughts in hand-written journals dating back to April 1998. He kept notes about the Doom WAD levels he was creating, but mostly what he wrote about was how much he hated the human race and the world.
