2004年8月20日 · You can take some polished Micarta and get it wet, and take some sanded Delrin, also wet and the micarta just sticks in your hand better. Makes a difference if you're cutting up a bunch of potatoes etc.

2006年3月2日 · Spray the Micarta with WD 40 and wipe it thoroughly. Then, Ivory soap with a tooth brush. Then hand buff with Simichrome polish. THEN use paste wax or neutral shoue polish. Canvas Micarta will not polish as nicely as linen or paper.

2014年12月8日 · I have heard that one way to make canvas micarta really grippy is the finish it up and then lightly bead blast it. I was told that the blasting eats away the resin between the threads slightly faster so you get a more textured surface.

The below photo shows sanded to 180 grits vs polishing, note how the colours change as the micarta becomes more shiny. Polished vs sanded micarta. Micarta can be left sanded with a coarse grit like 180 for a grippy, rough texture. Or sanded to high grit and finished on a polishing wheel, like I did on this chef knife.

2012年6月19日 · There should be no need for anything other then polish. Just sand up to a high grit then polish with some white rouge. It should shine up nicely.

2022年9月6日 · Really finishing Micarta up to 600 and waxing it is plenty good, especcially with the canvas types that will benefit very little of more, and most people actually like Micarta grippy. Usually hand sand up to 600 or 800 then oil or axe wax. Ends up being too slippery when polished. Sand to 600 grit, buff with green compound.
