Also (at least a few years ago) CR noted that hybrid variants (speaking about Toyota in particular) tend to be more reliable (read: lower overall maintenance) than their non-hybrid counterparts. So the break-even point is not actually that far away for most people.

They get 35-40 MPG combined. Your standard German hybrid makes much more power out of its gas engine, and comes with a heavier luxury-car chassis.

Help me decide on a 2024 hybrid compact SUV. I’m stuck bouncing between the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, and the Toyota RAV4. My priorities are comfort, mileage, tech (the center screen/the camera options), and storage space behind the second row of seats.

2015年1月5日 · You pay thousands for +2-3mpg real world and a worse ride and handling with "eco" tires and nonsense. If you want AWD and a crossover type thing, get a Forester or a regular Crosstrek. If you want a hybrid, get a real hybrid that actually gets the hybrid MPG that you're paying the $7-8k premium for. Like a Prius V or something.

So, I'd like to find a sub better on gas millage but first, the cost of the actual vehicles are so damn expensive like everything right now. New hybrid Jeep Cherokees could bea good fit. but for 65-70k I'm guessing it mathmatically doesnt check out. all electric SUV have hardly any options. I don't know what to do.

I'd consider the Subaru outback or Forester more of a midsize SUV, the Outback is a station wagon on paper, but with AWD and 8.5" ground clearance it also is a capable SUV. I just test drove the CX-5-70 and 90, they are great vehicles for the money.

Just looking for the best overall features on the base models, as 30k is my budget. I am old school and Aux input would be fantastic but I do not hold my breath for one. Thanks for any input ...

If space is the highest priority, your best bets will be the Toyota Grand Highlander or a Toyota Sequoia. But you'll definitely take a hit to gas economy with these options even with a hybrid engine. Between the Highlander/Pilot and the ones that I mentioned, I believe the Sorento just edges out the others for space in the 3rd row.
