2016年6月19日 · Cut all pieces to size. A) 3" x 20" B) 3" x 15-5/8" C) 15-1/4" x 19" x 1/4" plywood D) 3" x 4-1/2" x 1/4" plywood I wanted to make sure any hive body I grabbed would fit, so I decided to make the top and bottom units an 1/8" bigger than standard hive dimensions since I incorporate the use of metal corner angles to keep all the pieces locked together when stacked.
Bee Vac - Beesource Beekeeping Forums
2016年2月24日 · If you've ever tried to remove an existing feral hive without a bee-vacuum, I'm sure you've sworn off ever doing it again. Try it by vacuuming off the majority of bees first - then remove the comb one by one & vacuum the bees off each comb as you go. With less bees in the air & on the ground you'll have less of a chance at any unhappy bee-meeting.

2012年5月22日 · I am always concerned when I see bee vac plans or suggestions that the vacuum motor is in the same bucket as the bucket to collect the bees. I have been using a shop vac with a collecting bucket with a perforated and capped strainer pipe on the shop vac side. The bees drop into the collecting bucket from hose to the cutout.

2009年6月19日 · I built Robo's Bush Kill Bee Vac. I modified the vaccum system by using an old Hoover canister vac. that had a variable speed motor. Took the vac. apart and mounted what I needed on Robo,s design. One should be able to find an old vac at a yard sale, Goodwill or where ever for a few bucks. I also cut down and used an old window screen and frame.

2011年3月20日 · I built a bucket bee vac, but used a different approach. I mounted the vacuum motor on the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket. Then I took a second bucket with a lid & cut out a big hole on the bucket bottom & covered it with screen. Take the lid & attach your hose. The second bucket will nest inside the first and seal tight enough to vacuum bees nicely.
Hose for bee vac - Beesource Beekeeping Forums
2017年7月4日 · I have used corrugated Ridgid 2 1/2" hoses HUNDREDS of times without pureeing bees. I vac into a Bushkill vac. I use the recommended vac motor. I leave the vent full open. Over 25 swarms vac'd this year. Are you vacing into a bucket? Don't blame the hose. Blame overly high suction, the vacuum or the Operator. Videos:
Portable Bee Vac - Beesource Beekeeping Forums
2019年4月28日 · I am presently building a 5-gallon bucket type with a sight window. The bee speeds (flying backwards) into the cages work out best with a 1.5 horsepower to 2 hp vacuum power source into the bottom of the bucket using as 1.5" diameter vacuum hose.

2015年4月21日 · Very similar to the photos above, I made a 5-gallon bucket bee vacuum with an old 2 HP Shop Vac. It had a 1.5" hose that I cut to fit into a PVC ball valve to control intake speed. The PVC fittings went to a 90 degree elbow fitted into the bucket. I screwed wooden legs onto the bottom of the bucket so it stood above the PVC fittings.
Plans for a DIY bee vacuum | Beesource Beekeeping Forums
2019年6月25日 · When back at the apiary, a brood box containing a frame of open brood is then placed on top of the mesh panel, and the slide withdrawn. The swarm will then move up into the brood box. The Bee-Vac base unit can then be recovered for re-use - or more likely put back into the shed to collect even more dust ... Hope this has been of some interest. LJ
Bee vac hose question - Beesource Beekeeping Forums
2007年11月4日 · I use a 1.5 hose, wasn't hard to attach the end to a old shop-vac hose fitting after I cut the shop-vac hose off, my hose is 15 feet, some times wish it was 20' but 15' has worked fine, but seems the longer the hose , after awhile when vacuuming pieces of comb and bee's with honey and on them they seem to start getting stuck in the longer hoses because the …
