Barnes LRX - Long Range Hunting Forum
2021年4月20日 · I use a .300 WSM for my long range work and currently use 150 Grain TSX going 3150FPS ish, however I am wondering for the 350+ if a 175 Grain LRX would be a better choice due to its better BC and lower expansion threshold. I have found with the TTSX that it expands reliably at 2200+ rather than the 1800 Barnes state, hence limiting range somewhat.
Barnes LRX/TTSX Success and Failure... - Long Range Hunting Forum
2015年10月7日 · Years ago I was caribou hunting with a custom gun builder who shot and made loads exclusively with Barnes bullets. He told me if i was using a barnes bullet for thin skinned game, I should drop at least 10% in bullet weight from the normal lead bullet, (ie if i was using a 150gr lead, try 135gr barnes). He also told me that these bullets, while ...
Hammer Bullets: Worth the Hype? | Long Range Hunting Forum
2020年8月21日 · Both shot placements were not ideal, but both animals were immobilized and a quick follow up shot ended things. I believe the Hammer bullets used helped to anchor the animals as the autopsy showed a petal in each case did their job. I also use Barnes TTSX and LRX bullets a lot and they provide a very good wound channel from start to finish.

2021年11月17日 · Bullets were very accurate .3 MOA, longest kill was a coyote at ~860 yards. All the animals died from hits to the vitals but I never got a blood trail or good sized exit from the 6.5 LRX but I have a dozen or so of the perfectly mushroomed .30 caliber Barnes, maybe just the 6.5 doesn't expand well, don't know.

Barnes 280 grain LRX low velocity expansion results.
2012年3月2日 · I finally got to the range to test the low end velocity expansion of the 280 grain Barnes LRX from my dads savage 338 Lapua using trail boss powder and the bullets seated to just kiss the lands. I had 34" of wet newspaper backed by 5 milk jugs at 50yds, all bullets stopped at about the 30" mark.
Nosler e-tip or Barnes LRX? - Long Range Hunting Forum
2015年1月17日 · I just bought some Barnes 200 gr LRX Bullets for $35.00/Box of 50. The fact that it is of the same design as the Barnes Bullets? The only difference is the Hammer Bullets are machined and have more grooves. And they cost twice as much. Have fun with your Hammer Bullets. I'll have 2 times the fun with my Barnes for the same $.

Barnes LRX 7mm - Long Range Hunting Forum
2013年4月30日 · Also, Barnes generally underestimates the BCs of their bullets, i found the 280 grain LRX from my 338 Lapua to have a BC closer to .71 than the advertised bc of .667. I also found that the minimum expansion velocity of the 280 grain LRX to be at around 1500 fps, barnes recommend the minimum velocity to be no less than 1600 fps with the LRX line ...
