Thoughts on BMW M6 V10? : r/BMW - Reddit
On the plus side: the V10 sounds magnificent with the right exhaust. Truly exotic. And, having been co-developed with an F1 team at the time it does have true F1 roots. I wouldn't be surprised if, in 10+ years time, it becomes a collector's car because of that engine. The first and (probably last) V10 in a BMW.
I never see V10 M6’s on here are they bad? : r/BMW - Reddit
2023年9月11日 · Controversial opinion, I personally love the E63 M6 and having driven a true manual one that was also a Dinan car, I freaking LOVED IT and really want one myself. Even being 15 years old and with nearly 100k miles, it was amazingly comfortable, the edc worked a treat, and the glorious V10 noise is alone worth it.
Rod Bearings out of my 2008 BMW M5 with infamous S85 V10
2022年6月16日 · BMW uses a 10W-60 oil in the M dereived engines. You can look on forums and see bearings that look horrible with much lower milages. Most of the wear occurs when the engine is cold and the oil is thick.
Why didn't V10 engines catch on? : r/cars - Reddit
2022年4月12日 · For most manufacturers providing a V10, it was their biggest engine, and with harsher efficiency targets everyone has gone for turbos on smaller engines with fewer cylinders. So V8s getting replaced by turbo 6s, V10s with turbo V8s (or straight down to a 6) and V12s, well there really aren't that many of them to scale down now.

2019年7月23日 · Biggest ticket items: Rod bearings will need to be replaced, only go high clearance from BE or ACL. This fixes the bearing oil clearance issue. If you put BMW spec back in, you will need to replace them again. Regarding bearings much past 80k miles and you are gambling. Also around that time throttle body actuators and idle actuators will go.
BMW E60 M5 V-10 Review - Worth the Anxiety? - Test Drive - Reddit
2020年9月15日 · It's a prominent design flaw but the impact on ownership is so wildly overblown. Buy one with BE bearings, or add $2k to the purchase price in your head, and never worry about it again. The S65 (same engine with 2 cylinders chopped off, in the E9x M3) is by far the most reliable V8 BMW has made, OEM rod bearings aside.

"However, the M5 and M6 were nearly $100,000 cars when new and they demand the maintenance and repairs you’d expect out of a high-revving V10." Like....for all the dick swinging people do in these subs with their expensive toys --- just go rebuild the engine with your Daddy Warbucks money.
Is this a [BMW E60 M5 V10] or just a regular M5? : r/spotted - Reddit
So There are just BMW cars, for example the 2007 e92. Neat little City-Business car. But lets say you want it a bit sportier for +5% in price. Well you could get the e92 M sport. That replaces bumpers, maybe the steering wheel and shift knob. Allows you to upgrade the suspension, seats.. But it's still a 335i e92, now with M sport options.
