2024年8月26日 · Apollo 11 and Apollo 14 were using the same LM design, so theoretically Apollo 11 could have at least doubled their return load and still made it back. Even 14 could have added more stuff and likely still made it back, but at that point they really had cut the margins as short as anyone was comfortable with.

One of the more promising was the Gemini Lunar Rescue Spacecraft , which would be based on the older 2-man Gemini capsule.

Apparently Apollo 15 took their poop with them, or perhaps just held it in for the duration.

2018年2月28日 · Temperature and humidity within the Apollo Command Module was controlled with a system of heat exchangers, electrical heaters and water-glycol (62.5 % ethylene glycol and 37.5 % water) coolant loops. The coolant loop was used to cool the electronics mounted on cold plates and also the atmosphere of the capsule.
