Alcoa’s bauxite primarily supports our internal alumina refinery system, and we also supply global, third-party customers. Ownership positions in seven mines globally, including the Huntly mine in Australia, the world’s largest bauxite mine.

Our Australian operations represent one of the world’s largest integrated bauxite mining, alumina refining and aluminium smelting systems. In 2023, we mined approximately 34 million dry metric tonnes of bauxite, refined about nine and a half million tonnes of alumina and produced approximately 280,000 tonnes of aluminium.
