2023年3月13日 · What are the odds that 510 whisper is traveling slow enough that if you shoot anything steel or even rock that those AP bullets will just bounce right back at ya? They sure as shit do not have the velocity to penetrate so I would be cautious. I once recovered a AP core after knocking a head sized chunk out of a boulder from 200 yards away.

A round with similar performance (other than the .500 Phantom) is the RSAUM or WSM case cut to about 1.5" and opened to .50 caliber - a .50 Beowulf on 'roids essentially.

2019年4月14日 · I have a 500 Smith and Wesson barrel so I will just stick with that but unfortunately I can't use BMG bullets which is the coolest thing about the 510 whisper in my opinion. Yeah, I have heard of the .500 sw ones, seems like that would make a pretty decent lightweight deer rifle.

2024年10月27日 · .510 whisper, yeah, a 750 grain pill at ~1,000 FPS. The bullet is as long as the case, which is based on the Rigby. I don't have one of those and don't know that I'll buy one to test with, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

2012年3月24日 · I am familiar with wildcats as I load and shoot the 300/338/510 whispers and the 458 socom. I wanted to go with the 500 phantom, but it is not being made now. It is OK if it has a fat case that reduces magazine capacity, but the loaded round must 2.8 inches or shorter. I do prefer a 308 sized bolt face. Ranb

2022年4月14日 · 300 Whisper would be a thing if not for JD so I was hoping for a mass produced or at least SAAMI Blackout variant. 375 SOCOM and 458 SOCOM are basically big single stack whispers, with the latter having semi-available factory ammo.
