2020年8月21日 · I did a little research on the 12v RV refrigerators and see this as a huge improvement. The the two big advantages over propane / electric absorption refrigerators are safety and cooling effectiveness. Great for people that are plugged into electric of have ample solar power. My next trailer will have a 12v RV refrigerator.

2020年12月21日 · Here's our first impressions of our new Dometic DMC 4101 12v DC compressor refrigerator: A little background - we've just replaced our 10 year since rebuild Dometic NDR 1062 gas/electric fridge with the brand new to market Dometic DMC4101 - a 12v DC only compressor unit. The older unit had 8 cu ft of space vs 10 cu ft for the new unit.

I'm now running into 2 issues I hadn't thought about 1) The new 12v refrigerator requires not only hot and cold from the 12v, but also a ground wire.

2020年10月1日 · Seriously though, if you plan to boon dock with a compressor refrigerator you will need a supplemental energy source. Exactly how long the battery(ies) will last depends on a number of factors, but best case I wouldn't expect batteries to keep the refrigerator going more than 1 day without replenishment.

2023年3月3日 · It seems like every 12v RV refrigerator out there right now struggles with longevity. Obviously, YMMV, and you could get lucky, but our rig is a rental and it gets heavily used 9 months out of the year. I don't want a $1500 fridge to crap out after 1-2 years, and have to scramble last minute to get a replacement for a rental.

2021年10月3日 · Not many people who know 12v refrigeration would argue with you. However, there’s a huge difference between a 12v fridge on a sailboat and a 12v fridge in an RV. I owned an Ericsson 30. It had a 12v chest fridge. As I recall, it was 6cuft and had no freezer. It was also located next to the hull below the waterline, an ideal location for a fridge.
