Reloading for the .455 Webley MkII...suggestions?
2023年12月31日 · I chronographed some factory Fiocchi .455. The hollow base Fiocchi bullets weighed 263 grains, were .454" diameter, and averaged 554 FPS. I've reloaded .45 ACP, .45 Auto rim and .455 Fiocchi cases using Unique for the Webley. Using the Fiocchi .455 cases, 5.7 grains of Unique and a 230 grain plated .451" bullet velocity averaged 553 Fps.

2024年2月1日 · The last information I got off the Alliant web site for a shaved Webley listed a 4.0 grain charge of Unique behind a 235 grain bullet in a .45 acp case for a published pressure reading of 11,500 PSI. I tried that load and it chronographed between 450-500 fps and was extremely dirty. They had no data for .455 in a MK II case.

The cartridge first appeared in 1904 with a 0.885 ins case and very thin rim. A second version, thought to be from around 1910, has the same thin rim but the case is about .927 ins long.

2013年6月18日 · Hi Soundguy; Many years ago, someone observed that I appeared to shoot mainly to hear the noise. My Lee .455 Webley die set came with a sizing die marked "45 Colt." That's what it is and it works fine in a bunch of pistols. Be prepared to need several shell holders. RCBS steel dies size closer to the rim than Lee carbide dies.

2013年8月31日 · Load Webley loads in ACP brass. Webley cases are .770. ACP brass is .898. Max OAL for the Webley is 1.230 and for the ACP is 1.245. Get your charge using Webley brass, if you have any, or cut a 45 case down to .770 and use it. Once you have your charge, load THAT charge into ACP cases, put a 230 grain bullet in it and seat it to 1.23.
