In December, Variety, a retail company headquartered in Henderson, North Carolina, said it would take over 200 to 400 Big Lots stores under a deal with Gordon Brothers. Big Lots had 1,392 stores at the beginning of 2024, and now has 872 stores across the U.S., according to its website.
