YNAB -- monthly balance rollover question - Mr. Money Mustache
2015年1月31日 · If you right-click the budget cell for alcohol in January, one of the options is "Budget to 0". This will change the budget amount from 40 to 14.98, and send the 15.02 that you didn't use back to "Available to Budget". You can then increase the budget in one of your savings goals to get Available back to 0.
How do you budget without a Miscellaneous Category? - Mr.
2014年11月30日 · I'm wondering how you can do that without having a ton of budget categories, with some being for just a few dollars. In my budget (I use mint.com), I already use 14-18 categories. (Some of them are split out like Gas, insurance, maintenance and repairs could all just go under "Auto" but I like to see them separately.)
Help with YNAB...way too much money in my budget!
2016年11月19日 · Just make whatever categories that money is assigned to, budget money into those categories and be done with it. Your first month's budget wont really be a monthly budget, but next month will be fine. If you just want to budget your checking account, you can do that - money moved to other accounts would then be expenses in your YNAB budget.
YNAB and investments? - Mr. Money Mustache
2013年5月26日 · I keep my investment accounts off-budget in YNAB. Only two of my investment accounts (Roth IRA and taxable) ever get any contributions from my budget, so I set up budget categories for them and transfer accordingly. The rest of my investment contributions all come via pre-tax payroll deductions, so I never even enter those into my budget.

YNAB without YNAB? - forum.mrmoneymustache.com
2018年5月16日 · I an Excel workbook set up with the exact same budget categories as YNAB, a list of subscriptions, my loan paydown schedule and I use it to project future finances so I can play with cash flow scenarios, measure savings rates, etc. I then true up the numbers for each category at the end of the month in order to keep a tab on what I've spent.
We've fallen off the YNAB-horse. Has anyone else? - Mr. Money …
2014年12月23日 · YNAB is not a spending tracker, it's a budget app. Mint is not budget app, it's a spending tracker. This is completely clear once you grasp the zero-sum budget employed in YNAB. You don't have to buy YNAB to use a zero-sum budget approach as others have mentioned. If you don't understand zero-sum, you won't get YNAB.
What budget template do you use? - Mr. Money Mustache
2018年1月16日 · Good Budget is a similar system, free if you only have 10 categories. There was a developer creating a free clone of YNAB 4 as a web app (instead of the changes put in YNAB now) but development stopped quite awhile ago, so not sure if it works or not. The site is still up. Can’t remember the name offhand.
YNAB price increase - signup before 11/15 for grandfathered pricing
2017年11月14日 · Good Budget is a competitor that's free if 10 categories a month are sufficient for you. Someone made a web-based app that's essentially an exact clone of YNAB 4 and is completely free (there were some caveats IIRC) but the name escapes me.
Curious how YNAB folks handle their HSA
2015年3月6日 · Let's say you have $5,000 in your off-budget HSA and $0 in your on-budget HSA. You go to the doctor and have a $20 copay and purchase $30 in prescriptions. Your costs in your "Medical" budget are now $50. So you move $50 from your off-budget HSA account (retirement) to your on-budget HSA account (debit) as a $50 credit in "Medical", not in ...
