Today, St Mary of Providence Center provides affordable housing to seniors capable of living independently, and provides facilities for retreats, group meetings and other family events. The focal point of St. Mary of Providence Retreat Center the historic Potts mansion, known as Langoma, which is a Native American term that means “homestead.”

In 1891 Col. Joseph D. Potts, the owner of Isabella Furnace, began building the chateau-like mansion, "Langoma" which he intended as a residence for himself and his son William. However, Col. Potts died in December 1893 and did not live to see it completed.

Throughout the year St. Mary of Providence Center hosts special events that are open to the local community, such as our Strawberry Festival and Christmas activities at the Mansion. The Mansion, our Cafe, our multi-purpose room and our grounds are also available to host group events, weddings, family celebrations, and other special occasions.
