David Hattersley Warner[3] (29 July 1941 – 24 July 2022) was an English actor who worked in film, television and theatre. Warner's lanky, often haggard appearance lent itself to a variety of villainous characters as well as more sympathetic roles across stage and screen.

My favourite of all voice actors in In the BG saga. Utilizing his return in SoD to not just voice Irenicus but a player voiceset alongside - the Male Commanding voiceset - was among the best decisions of Beamdog. Rest in peace (although I will always associate him with Gul Mardred of TNG and Tron's MCP before Irenicus). RIP.

2022年7月25日 · Sadly the voice of Irenicus passed away. He will always remain one of my favourite villains and I could listen to the actor read the phone book. Yeah I just saw the news, he marked my childhood with many of his great performances. He will be missed.

I knew his voice immediately on hearing it and knew even if the game sucked I'd be basking in his evilness. :) I love him as Irenicus but the thing I know him next best as is, "THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS" nemesis Gul Madred.

His commanding portrayal of the arrogant elven mage made Irenicus one of the most memorable villains in RPGs, and is one of the key reasons why Baldur's Gate 2 remains such an arresting experience today.
