What was in Eowyn's Stew? | The Tolkien Forum
2019年5月30日 · It's a tiresome trope/cliché on two matters 1) Eowyn would be called a "tomboy" in the real world. The descriptor came about in Victorian times IIRC, might have been a little earlier.
Did Eowyn ️ Faramir as much as Aragorn? - The Tolkien Forum
2002年12月14日 · Éowyn hero worshipped Aragorn. She saw in him first and foremost the man who could be King, the valiant hero and so forth. She saw in him a chance for glory. All the desirable things the saw in Aragorn, she mistook for romantic love, when it was more the love for a battle leader (she was after all a shield maid).
Was Éowyn's defiance of King Théoden justified?
2003年10月14日 · But of course, Éowyn did not have this kind of foresight. Therefore, I would say that she was wrong in joining the ride to Gondor . Besides the fact that she was directly disobeying the orders of her King, she only wanted to ride to Gondor so that she might win renown, and because she was restless and, perhaps even a little immature.

Eowyn and Faramir relationship - The Tolkien Forum
2023年11月23日 · Basically Éowyn just wanted to be with a hot Dunedain man. Ranger #27 had the hots for her, and maybe saw his chance when Aragorn shunned her affection, but his honour kept him in his place, and he couldn't compete with the Royal Steward of Gondor. This Essay on Eowyn has some great insights in to the character. I don't agree with everything ...

Aragorn and Eowyn's dynamics discussion | The Tolkien Forum
2025年1月3日 · Originally, Tolkien intended for Éowyn to marry Aragorn. Later, however, he decided against it because Aragorn was "too old and lordly and grim". He considered making Éowyn the twin sister of Éomund, and having her die "to avenge or save Théoden".
"the great wave" dream...was it faramir's?
2006年1月18日 · It makes absolutely no sense to take these lines away from Faramir and give them to Éowyn. The scene in the book isn't in the (EE) film, which would have to have been RoTK, anyway. Other lines PJ gave her, entirely his own "creation", also in the TT EE, is where she "realizes" that Aragorn is "one of the Dúnedain", which also don't make sense.
