2021年6月25日 · The MSDS takes up to 2 000 volunteers into either the SA Air Force (SAAF), SA Army, SA Military Health Service (SAMHS) or SA Navy (SAN) for two years. Basic military training is first up followed by specialist mustering training, dependent on service and then deployment to a division, unit or base.

The South African Army has established a program for young South African citizens to serve for a two-year program thanks to its Military Skills Development Program.

Upon joining the SANDF, all recruits must undergo Basic Military Training (BMT) to acquire fundamental military skills: Basic Military Training (BMT) : Includes physical fitness training, weapons handling, first aid, and fieldcraft.

How long is SANDF basic training? South African Army recruits undergo 22 weeks of basic military training (BMT), up from 14 weeks in 2005. BMT is the first of a series of training periods undertaken at the SA Army Training Depot in Kimberley.
