A couple older Winchester single shot 22’s | The Firearms Forum
2024年9月29日 · Very nice rifles, indeed! Those old bolt action .22s are amazing rifles. Even the "entry grade" .22s are mostly extremely accurate and well made (for what they are). Pop's old 67A has gone thru many kids, grand kids, great grand kids and even now great-great grand kids - and is still a tack driver.
Help identifying old military rifle. | The Firearms Forum
2015年1月2日 · I was given this rifle by my father, and it used to belong to my grand father. He said he believes it is a .308 Cal that was used by the Canadian military. I have done some research online and found out what some of the markings mean. The GR with the P under it I was told means "George Rex Proof". I can not see a year or make stamped on the gun.
Help! Old Muzzleloader Rifle I.D with detailed Pics!
2010年1月18日 · Is there a name on the barrel. Without a name there is no way of knowing who made it. The rifle is in the style of Ohio or Indiana gunsmiths. Is the barrel muzzle coned. This allows a patched ball to be started easily. I would expect the rifle to be 40 cal or less so the muzzle may be coned. The sight may be a replacement also. They look to high.

My son-in-law is 60 years old and says that the gun has 'always' been in his ...

2010年6月18日 · The barrel has definitely been lined and that is 3-groove rifling, plus the cartridge appears to be center fire. A chamber cast would show the caliber. If it is .50-70, then it is very likely to be an old (c. 1867) conversion.
Old bolt rifle - The Firearms Forum
2016年1月3日 · It is now over 100 years old, and the pressure for the rounds it is NOW chambered are about 50,000. Kind of a PITA, but if it were me, I'd fire only very mild custom hand loads loads out of it, or better yet - spend about $200 and have a 7mm Mauser barrel on it. It really is a nice looking rifle, but not a safe one in my humble opinion.
