Gijón (Spanish: [xiˈxon] ⓘ) or Xixón (Asturian: [ʃiˈʃoŋ]) is a city and municipality in north-western Spain. It is the largest city and municipality by population in the autonomous community of Asturias.

On the shores of the Cantabrian Sea, Gijón offers an attractive combination of maritime tradition, monumental heritage and modern urban planning right on the seashore. Its marina is a testament to its close links with the sea throughout its history.

With a population of of 272,000 (2017) this Coastal City on the Bay of Biscay is the largest city in Asturias. After spending 4 days in Xixon as it´s called in Asturiano, here are my tips to make the most of a city break here.
