Israeli police are scouring coastal waters for a man they fear may have been attacked by a shark in an area that's seen increasing close encounters between sharks and beachgoers.

Remains have been found by search and rescue teams after a swimmer was attacked by a shark off the coast of northern Israel on Monday, the country's Fire and Rescue Authority says. The remains recovered on Tuesday afternoon were transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification.
