Texas Rangers right-hander Kumar Rocker needed 63 pitches to record five outs in a brief 1 2/3 inning start in Wednesday’s 5-2 loss to the Athletics at Sutter Health Park. He threw 39 pitches in the bottom of the first inning and allowed four runs before he could record a third out and exited in the second inning after 23 more pitches,

Rocker is now the fourth Rangers starting pitcher on the Injured List, joining Jack Leiter, Cody Bradford and Jon Gray. Reliever Josh Sborz is also on the Injured List. Leiter is expected to return to the majors soon after recovering from a blister injury earlier this month.
