Chennai: A fresh spell of rain lashed several parts of Chennai city on Saturday, bringing relief from the scorching heat but also causing traffic snarls and waterlogging in low-lying areas.

On Saturday, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 38 and 40°C, while minimum temperatures may remain between 18 and 20°C.

The adverse weather conditions can also lead to waterlogging and slippery roads, the IMD predicted. The rain can also give way to traffic snarls.
