The latest phase of the Rutgers football team’s offseason is coming to a close. The Scarlet Knights will conclude their spring camp on Saturday with their annual Scarlet and White game, the 15th and final practice of the offseason session.

Spring storyline: The Nittany Lions snagged Jim Knowles, who just coordinated the No. 1 defense in college football last season at Ohio State. Penn State made him the highest-paid coordinator in the country ($3.1 million). Knowles will begin molding the Nittany Lions defense this spring, with plenty of talent to deploy.

The Blue-White game, which kicks off at 2 p.m., won’t be televised. But PennLive’s entire Penn State team — Bob Flounders, Max Ralph, Joe Hermitt and myself — will be in Happy Valley and providing you with everything you need to know from the annual scrimmage.
