The Fairy Doll is like the phoenix of Russian ballet. It’s faded in and out of the cultural repertoire repeatedly throughout its history. Even today, it remains largely unknown.

The Los Gatos Ballet will perform “Coppélia” on May 15 at 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Campbell Heritage Theatre, 1 West Campbell Ave., Campbell. Tickets range from $15 to $20.

The doll is the latest addition to Mattel’s “Sheroes” collection, which includes Ava DuVernay, Emmy Rossum, Eva Chen, Kristin Chenoweth, Sydney “Mayhem” Keiser, Trisha Yearwood and Zendaya.

With that impressive feat and a family of her own under her belt, Jones decided to revisit her paper doll passion, and in the 1980s, she and her daughter Kathleen went wild.
