At Milepost 13 about 20 miles east of Seaside, locals have dubbed the treacherous spot “The Bump,” where a sunken grade has sent cars airborne — despite a posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said the highway had reopened just before 7 p.m. ODOT asked drivers to slow down and watch out for emergency responders.
