International Boxing Hall of Famer and former two-division world champion Dwight Muhammad Qawi died Friday. He was 72.

Frazier’s record now reads 16-23 after the loss. It was McCall’s first fight since 2019 and the victory takes his record to 60-14 (39KOs). McCall has been around the block for a long time.

Frazier remained the undisputed champion from 1970 to 1973, when Foreman stripped the heavyweight title from him. The gym operated for 25 years, training boxing contenders as well as inner-city youth.

Frazier, 16-23 (15 KOs), started well in the first round, landing clean shots to the body of McCall – who used his jab more. When McCall attacked, his big right hand sent Frazier to the canvas.

Frazier was victorious in nearly every contest, but lost two encounters vs. a large, talented boxer named Buster Mathis.
