“哪吒”实的梵文全名是Nalakuvara或Nalakubala，在一些汉文佛经中被翻译成“那罗鸠婆、那吒鸠伐罗、那吒俱伐罗”等。这些译名都是梵文的音译，虽然有的字现在读起来差别较大，但这是语音不断变化的结果，其实当时的语音比较接近。
