Authorities in Maine said Friday they have charged a 17-year-old with murder in the death of a paddleboarder who went missing on a rural pond.

Sunshine Stewart's body was found during a search of Crawford Pond, a 600-acre body of water in Union, southern Maine, after she disappeared on July 2.

The suspect in the murder of a missing paddleboarder has been identified by police as a 17-year-old from Maine will appear before a judge Friday.
