In a shocking post-race inspection, Jesse Love was found to have a rear suspension violation. Sammy Smith is now the Rockingham winner. NASCAR racing gives and it takes. Tonight, it gave to Smith and took from Love.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series made its first return to Rockingham Speedway for the first time in over 20 years. All the excitement was well-lived as fans were treated to plenty of side-by-side racing along with lots of slipping and sliding around.

Sammy Smith, who finished second to Love, was declared the winner. Peterson said Smith’s car went through post-race inspection as well and passed. Smith and his crew chief were still at the track when NASCAR’s ruling was issued. They decided to remain at Rockingham Speedway when they realized there apparently was a problem.
