Cincinnati forward Dillon Mitchell is the latest player to join Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino at St. John's, the Red Storm announced Wednesday. The 6-foot-8 Mitchell averaged 9.9 points and 6.9 rebounds last season for the Bearcats.

The St. John's Red Storm have been transformed into a college basketball power under the leadership of head coach Rick Pitino. Pitino led St. John's to the Big East regular season and tournament titles. The Red Storm entered the NCAA Tournament with high hopes, boasting a No. 2 seed, but were taken down early in the dance.

Rick Pitino is a happy man on Monday. The St. John's head coach just landed a former 5-star recruit out of the transfer portal, and it's a kid from the Bronx. North Carolina's Ian Jackson announced that he's coming to play for the Johnnies.
