Philadelphia is the last stop on the Chicago Cubs ’ nine-game road trip. They won two of three in Washington before being quieted by the Tigers in Detroit. Returning home may benefit the Phillies, who are 19-12 at home as opposed to 18-16 on the road. However, the Cubs are nearly as good on the road (20-14) as they are at home (20-11).

The Tigers were riding high after a solid win on Friday night. Unfortunately, they were brought back down to Earth on Saturday afternoon. While the Cubs only had seven hits in the contest, five of them went over the outfield wall.

The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz won the game after sliding into home on a single during the eighth inning.

Paul Skenes again pitched into the eighth for Pittsburgh before Andrew McCutchen came through with a go-ahead single that inning, helping the Pirates complete a three-game sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies with a 2-1 win.
